A new spiritual practice

Hello loves,

A spiritual practice is a practice for a reason. You have to return to it over and over again. It can always grow, in fact it can completely change depending on your needs at the moment but the practice itself is life long. The root of your practice, the emotional centre is usually anything that feels like you are returning home. It's anything that reminds you of the ever evolving expression of life itself.

I've had many practices in my time. There was point where I was doing traditional meditation for an hour a day, another point where I was doing an hour of yoga a day and there was a time when I chant and beat drums for a while ( not fun for my neighbours ). These helped me during very specific times in my life and they were reactions or solutions to whatever I was healing through at those times. These days I am way more gentle with my choice of practice but way more disciplined in my ability to show up for it. My spiritual practices these days are walks in nature, quiet cups of coffee, writing poetry in the morning, praying to the skies, making music, talking to the universe when the house is empty and loving the people around me. It sounds less structured than it actually is but I have to make time to tune in to the flow of the universe or I can too easily lose my footing.

A spiritual path is not easy. Nor is being in posession of spiritual gifts. They need maintenance, they need care, they need you to put effective boundaries around them to keep them from floating all over your life. I can go off course so quickly that I need to build a whole life that is rooted around constant reminders that I am a spiritual being having a spiritual experience. My goal with all that I have is to serve the light within myself and through that serve my community. All I want to do is use what I have to enrich those and myself who are in alignment. It's a tricky path and of course I make my mistakes but these practices stop my mistakes from becoming a whole new path. They give me enough reminders so that I can't get too stuck or get too dark or go too off course.

Today I want to encourage you to look at your spiritual practices. Not the ones you use to get ready to deal with others but the ones that keep you centered on being yourself. Take a good deep dive into them and see if they need to be developed, evolved or completely changed. We have been through so much and life is moving so quickly that it's a good idea to have a deeper check in with yourself.

As always I'm sending you all my love.

Big Love
